Grand Canyon Top Hotels Outside the Park – South Rim
We often stay outside the Park as in our opinion you get more for your money and there is often greater availability.
The nearest settlement to the South Rim is Tusayan, Arizona, which is only 7 miles from Grand Canyon Village. It is also served by the free Park shuttle bus, which is really handy, you can abandon your car and indulge in a post hike beer.

We like it’s large rooms, swimming pool and complimentary breakfast. There are a couple of different restaurants and a sports bar, along with a games room and even a bowling alley.
2) Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Grand Canyon
This hotel also has a complimentary breakfast, along with free wi-fi in public areas. They have a limited number of Grand canyon Suites with separate sitting area and kitchenette which may be especially handy if travelling with children. It can be worth checking Holiday Inn Express Hotels own website for availability if these rooms are of interest.
Our final choice has an indoor pool and free wi-fi in the onsite coffee shop. There is a steakhouse and saloon on the hotel premises.
If the accommodation in Tusayan does not grab you, you will need to drive further out to Williams, Arizona.

We like the comfy rooms, the outdoor pool and the complimentary breakfast. There is lots of public space, both inside and outside the hotel so it is a good option if you don’t want to feel you are cooped up in your room.

If you are after a budget option, this is a great choice. There is an indoor pool, complimentary breakfast and complimentary Wi-Fi. There is no restaurant, but it is an easy walk or a very short drive along Route 66 into town where there are a variety of eating options.
If you are travelling without any kids this is a fabulous option. The rooms are all beautifully designed with very comfy beds and a mini-fridge of free water. There is free Wi-Fi and the breakfast is wonderful. They will also do a packed lunch for you which is very handy if you are headed out for the day. There is no restaurant, but downtown Williams is an easy walk away and has several places to eat.

Accommodation near the North Rim is much sparser. The nearest accommodation outside the Park is the Kaibab Lodge, 18 miles, and the Jacob Lake Inn, 45 miles away.
