Where to stay in Chicago, We love…

For sheer luxury you can’t beat the Trump . For nice service touches and a comfy bed head to the Amalfi Hotel . For great value for money and a massive room Springhill Suites is a brilliant choice. For big groups and self-catering options you can’t go wrong with Comfort Suites Chicago or Homewood Suites Chicago Downtown. Read more about where to stay in Chicago below.

In order to have easy access to all that Chicago has to offer we prefer to stay centrally downtown in the area bounded by W North Avenue, Congress Parkway / Eisenhower Expressway  and the Chicago River. When you are choosing your hotel be sure to have a good look at it on a map. The downtown train system is elevated (remember the Blues Brothers) and in hotels next to it, some rooms are at the same level as the track and can be very noisy.

Our Top 5 Chicago hotels…

The Trump Tower, Chicago

The Trump Tower, Chicago

1) Trump International Hotel & Tower

We have stayed in Chicago a lot and used several hotels. Pretty much every chain you can imagine has a hotel here, but we particularly like the Trump International Hotel & Tower . If you can stump up the cash the rooms are vast, the facilities are great and for a city centre hotel it is very quiet.

2) Amalfi Hotel

If you don’t want to spend quite so much money the Amalfi Hotel is also a great choice. The rooms are a reasonable size and very comfortable and they do free drinks and canapés in the evenings for guests which is a nice touch.

3) Springhill Suites by Marriott Chicago Downtown/ River North

If you are looking for a nice big room with a fridge and microwave you can’t go far wrong with Springhill Suites by Marriott Chicago Downtown/ River North. It’s very comfortable, in a great location and it has a pool.

4) Comfort Suites Chicago

If you are holidaying in a group or with small children you should have a look at Comfort Suites Chicago which has studios or 1, 2 and 3 bed suites with full kitchens and a washing machine.

5)Homewood Suites Chicago Downtown

All rooms at Homewood Suites have separate bedrooms (your choice is between a double and a king) and sitting rooms with pull out beds and a full kitchen.
