 West Yellowstone

West Yellowstone is a small town immediately adjacent to the West Entrance of the Yellowstone National Park. There is a range of accommodation available including hotel rooms, cabins and camping as well as plenty of restaurants, a supermarket, post office and laundrette. West Yellowstone is not the most attractive town you will have ever seen, but it does have fabulous access to the Park. It makes a great base from which to spend several days exploring with particularly good access to the geothermal features at Norris, as well as around Old Faithful and good access to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The town is also home to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center that is well worth a visit.

In the winter West Yellowstone is a major centre for cross-country skiing, dog sledding and snow mobiles as well as a jumping off point for snow coach tours into the Park.

Cabin in West Yellowstone

1) The
Holiday Inn WEST YELLOWSTONE
is in town and offers a range of good sized rooms with fridges and a microwave, free wi-fi and an indoor swimming pool.

2) The Three Bear Lodge is also a good choice, well located with a small outdoor pool, hot tubs and good sized rooms. The rooms in the Lodge are more modern and finished to a higher standard than those in the motel and this is reflected in the price.

3) The Gray Wolf Inn & Suites is well located in town with an indoor pool, and large pleasant rooms.

4) If you want some self-catering facility, the Explorer Cabins at Yellowstone are a good bet. They are modern with kitchenettes and well located in town.

5) If you are looking for something a little more out of the ordinary, try Yellowstone Wildlife Cabins. They are in town and have full kitchens so are especially good for families.

6) Glamping is also on offer with the tents at Yellowstone Under Canvas. This is about 6 miles out of town to the west so in the opposite direction to the Park so is no good for ambling into town for dinner but is an excellent option for stargazing and peace and quiet.
