Lake Yellowstone is an absolutely massive alpine lake – it really is huge! Just the sheer expanse of water is stunning and walking by the lake is a lovely experience. If you want to get out on the water, Xanterra operate Bridge Bay Marina where you can join a guided boat tour, rent a small boat with an outboard engine, or rent a rowing boat.
Please note, you are advised not to swim in the Lake. It is extremely cold (except for where there are vents of hot water which may scald you).
