Yellowstone – What To Do

Yellowstone – What To Do

Yellowstone What To Do

There is so much to do in Yellowstone that I found this quite difficult to write!

One of the things for which Yellowstone is most famous is its geothermal features. There are incredible geysers, shimmering pools of brilliantly coloured boiling water, boiling mud, sulphurous springs, hot springs and all manner of other geothermal shenanigans. These are all wonderfully accessible so make sure you set aside some time to wander the various boardwalks and do more than go and see Old faithful.

In addition to all the exciting geothermal stuff, Yellowstone has some incredible scenery. The Grand canyon of the Yellowstone in particular is genuinely awesome with a couple of amazing waterfalls thrown in for good measure.

Another big draw at Yellowstone is the wildlife. The Park is vast and home to all manner of interesting animals and birds. High up on the list for most people are bison, elk, moose, bears (black and grizzly), wolves and eagles, all of which are residents of the park.

When you are planning your trip and deciding what the do, the Park Service Website has a useful interactive map. If you click on each location it lists the major attractions.

Rather than repeat any of this information I have tried to pull out the main activity themes as follows:
