Where to buy summer clothes in the winter

So, you’ve finally got so sick of the rain, the cold, the dark and the general winter misery that you have booked a break somewhere warm. Yay! Always a top plan. There is one tiny little snag however. On reviewing your holiday wardrobe, you realise it is somewhat lacking and the shops haven’t yet got their summer stuff in.

Never fear. There are plenty of places that sell a great selection of clothing for warmer climates all year round. Here are our top 5 places to shop to find everything you need.

5 Top Spots to Buy Summer Clothes in the Winter

1) John Lewis have a great range of summer clothing on their website all year round. In their women’s department, they have a somewhere the sun is shining section, featuring swimwear, beachwear, and other holiday garb. For men, there is the winter sun option with swimwear, t shirts and summer shoes, and there is a children’s holiday shop where you can pick up anything your little ones have grown out of since the last time you went away. So that would probably be everything then…..

2) Marks and Spencer is another great place to look for year round beachwear. On their website they have a womenswear Holiday Shop with swimwear, cover ups and useful things like wide legged linen trousers. These are often reduced out of season so you may well be able to grab a bargain. They also have a men’s Holiday Shop, complete with shorts, lightweight trousers and jackets, shirts and shoes as well as swimwear. Finally, there is a great range of stuff for kids, including plenty of swimwear, pretty skirts and frocks and nice shorts and tees.

3) House of Fraser. These guys have a great selection of women’s swimwear available on their website all year round, as well as a really broad selection of sunglasses and skin care products for sunny spots. They also have a great selection of kids swimwear. Finally, if you are looking for an out of season bargain, the clearance section of their website is always worth a quick look.

4) Simply Beach. If you are after new swimwear or beachwear, definitely check out Simply Beach. They carry a fantastic range of women’s swimwear with brands such as Seafolly and Jets  which are often hard to find in the UK. We love their women’s beachwear for everything from sarongs to some lovely dresses. They have swimwear for men and boys as well. Finally, their outlet section is a great place for bargain hunting.

5) Gandy’s Flip Flops. If you have dug out the family’s collection of flip flops and found it sadly lacking, or simply fancy a new pair, we are huge fans of Gandy’s Flip Flops. Firstly, they are great flip flops with a fantastic range of colours for men, women and children. In addition, the company was founded by two young men who lost their parents in the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. That dreadful experience has inspired them to create Orphans for Orphans, a charity that aims to help orphans in deprived areas around the world, so you can feel doubly happy about your new flip flops. We like that a lot.
