Miami Shopping

There are many, many places to shop in the Miami area.

You may collect a few of these!

In South Beach head for Collins Avenue at 6th Street. There are shops clustered around this part of Collins – you can find a branch of Barneys and brands such as MAC Cosmetics, Ralf Lauren and Armani Exchange as well as Gap, Zara and Banana Republic. Follow Collins up to Lincoln Road and head for the Lincoln Road Mall. This is an open air shopping and eating area and you can find shops such as J Crew, Anthropologie and Victoria’s Secret.

If South Beach does not satisfy your desire for designer shopping then head to Bal Harbour Shops. Here you will find all the designer boutiques you desire, Gucci, Chanel, Prada etc, they are all here as well as Saks Fifth Avenue and Nieman Marcus – two of America’s most upmarket department stores. The shopping centre itself is a really pleasant environment and there are several places to stop for a drink or lunch. Bal harbour is about 7.5 miles north of Lummus Park on South Beach, straight up Collins Avenue.

Should your party consist of a mixture of shoppers and non-shoppers, it may be worth considering heading for Coral Gables. Coral Gables is home to The Village of Merrick Park which is a huge shopping area with pretty much all the high street stores as well as the upmarket department stores Nieman Marcus and Nordstrom. There are also a number of designer boutiques here such as Gucci and Hugo Boss and all manner of places to eat and drink. It is easy to arrange for the shoppers to head for the Village and the non-shoppers to head to the Venetian Pool for a swim.

If you are looking for a mega mall with pretty much every high street store, some designer stores and several department stores then head about 13 miles north of South Beach to the Aventura Mall. You can definitely spend all day here and it is a great rainy day destination as there are plenty of places to eat and a massive multi-screen cinema.

Finally, if you are a bargain hunter you need to head out to Sawgrass Mills Mall in Fort Lauderdale. This place is truly vast and consists of all manner of outlet and discount stores from the upmarket department stores Saks, Barneys and Nieman Marcus, through high street stores such as Banana Republic, Levi’s, Nike, J Crew – I could go on. There are hundreds of shops here and it can feel a little overwhelming. If you have several shops you know you want to visit it is easiest to go on the website first and go with a plan.
