Wondering where to stay in Boston?…
For location and families we like Loews. The Lenox wins for something a little more luxurious. Whilst The Copley Square Hotel and Nine Zero offer reasonable value. Read more about our favourites below.
As we’ve already mentioned, Boston is a real walking city and so, because it’s so easier to get around, it gives more choice on locations to stay. None of the areas are actually that far from one another. Typically, most tourists favour either Back Bay or Downtown/Waterfront for the convenience of access to either the main tourist sights or to restaurants, shops and bars. Certainly Back Bay is generally better for evening food and drink (although it can be pricey), as the Faneuil Hall area tends to quieten down once the tourists have departed for the evening, although it’s close to the North End so you’ll always find a good value Italian restaurant to eat in!
The big chains dominate suite hotels in Boston and there aren’t that many, less so that are centrally located.
Our Top Boston hotels…
1) Loews
A good option for a more centrally located hotel as it’s close to all the sights and has connecting rooms if you are travelling with children, or they can stay in your room for free.
2) The Lenox
Great if you fancy something a bit more glamourous. The Lenox is in Back Bay and has great reviews
Another hotel with great reviews and with a free wine reception each evening.
4) Nine Zero
You’ll find Nine Zero near Beacon Street and Boston Common. It’s a boutique style hotel which also has a ‘wine hour’, this seems to be a popular feature in Boston hotels, not that we’re complaining about free wine you understand.
