Yosemite Camping
There are thirteen campsites in the Park, 6 of which can be reserved in advance; the remainder are first come first served. All the campsites are very popular. You can reserve up to 5 months in advance and the campsites tend to sell out within minutes of the reservation slot becoming available. The first come first served sites tend to be full by noon so if you are relying on using these plan your trip accordingly. For more information and to reserve a campsite, visit

Please Note, you will be required to store all food, dirty crockery and cutlery and any items with a strong scent such as wipes, toiletries, cosmetics etc. in a food locker when camping. You may only keep food in your car during daylight hours.
Food lockers are large metal lockers provided by the Park Service at all campgrounds where there may be bears. The lockers are designed to be bear proof. Please ensure you follow instructions from the Park authorities regarding locker use and dispose of all rubbish in the bear proof bins provided. This stops the bears from associating people and food and discourages them from entering campgrounds which makes everyone happy. Except maybe Yogi……..
