What to Take

What to Take

Whatever you decide to do in the Park there are several essentials you will need. Firstly water, even in the cooler dry season the day can feel very warm to us Brits. You will also need sunscreen, a decent sun hat, insect repellent (especially in the wet season),comfortable, flat footwear and sunglasses. A decent camera is a must, preferably one with a reasonable zoom functionality so you can get good close ups without getting too near any wildlife.

In the wet season a lightweight breathable waterproof can be handy although my husband says he gets so hot in one he does not get much wetter if he goes without.  Also useful to take are binoculars and sunglasses with polarizing lenses – they do really help when you look into water that the sun is shining onto. We tend to take a picnic lunch as well depending on where we are going. Finally, if you are travelling with a toddler reins may be helpful. You do not want them getting too near a ‘gator……
