New England

New England

Autumn is one of the best times of year to head for New England – this is the region is the North eastern US made up of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. New England is famed for the beauty of its fall foliage which appears around October onwards as the leaves change from green to all manner of shades of red, orange and yellow, it’s a truly incredible display!  Don’t forget to check out the pumpkin fields too, when you’ll see a swathe of squashed orange spheres.  They’re an autumn spectacle and great for kids, it makes you realise why pumpkin pie is a huge tradition come Thanksgiving!

Go independent…

British Airways offer direct flights from the UK to Boston up to 28 times per week so you’re sure to find a flight time that suits you.  You can be in Boston in around 7 hours from Heathrow.

Virgin Atlantic also operate direct flights from the UK to Boston.   We love them for the great on board entertainment systems and family friendly approach.

If neither of these options appeal we like Skyscanner for a good listing of all the operators  running flights.

Book a package…

Sometimes you just don’t have the time or inclination to plan and book a trip independently, that’s when booking through a tour operator makes sense.

Kuoni have a range of holiday options covering Boston and New England including some self drive tours which would be our choice.

Don’t fancy visiting the city on your own?  Just You makes it easy to travel solo without feeling like you’re alone by providing trips purely for solo travellers.  It’s a great idea for anyone who would prefer the security of travelling in a group or who just wants to share their experiences and make new friends.  Their Canada & New England in the Fall tour is a 14 day trip starting in Boston, taking in New England up to Canada, Niagara Falls, and finishing in New York.
