The Alamo, San Antonio, Texas

The weather is Texas is great this time of year and it is when I would plan a trip to take in maybe Austin, San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country.

Austin has a reputation for great live music, independent shopping and a laid back, friendly atmosphere while San Antonio has the cultural sights of the Alamo and missions and the scenic San Antonio river, as well as some great restaurants, galleries, theatres, museums and shops.

If you are looking to really get off the beaten track head right down to the Mexican border and check out Big Bend National Park, it is beautiful.
