Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center and Royal Palm

Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center and Royal Palm

The Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center at Homestead is the main information centre for the Park and has a range of exhibits to explain its history, eco system, flora and fauna. There are also Rangers available to answer questions and give advice. From there head to the Royal Palm Visitor Center and try and catch a Ranger led walk. This is a great way to learn how to spot some of the animals which are very well camouflaged and can be difficult to see.

Walking Royal Palm

There are a couple of short, easy walking trails at Royal Palm. My favourite is the Anhinga Trail.

This is a boardwalk that allows you to access various habitats and we have spent many happy hours here watching the goings on of the various resident creatures and it is a great place to see alligators. It is buggy friendly but you will need to keep a firm hold on any small children as you do not want them to fall in the water!
